Plan to attend Protein Industries Canada’s first ever Project Pitch Day!

Project Pitch Day is Protein Industries Canada’s first all-sector event, designed to bring companies together from across the value-chain to make connections. This is an opportunity for businesses to talk about the work they're doing and connect with other companies. The event is free for both the pitching companies and attendees.

Pitch presenters can come from a variety of backgrounds within the plant protein ecosystem; some examples could be a company in production technology, precision agriculture, plant genomics, research and development, academia, international market development, and many more. The goal of the event is to foster a collaborative environment and create projects that have the potential to transform Canada’s agriculture and food industry. Collaboration can be as simple as a conversation which sprouts and idea which can lead to larger opportunity for the organizations involved. This is clustering at work.

Pitch Day is an opportunity for organizations within the plant protein industry to “pitch” the work their organization is doing to an audience of industry professionals, leaders, and interested guests. Each participating company will have 5 minutes to tell other businesses what you do, present a potential project, and make connections.

The goal of Project Pitch Day is to get the plant protein community excited about the work others are doing, kickstart those conversations, and get people excited about the future of plant protein. PIC announced the First Call for Proposals on April 18, 2019. Interested parties can purchase a membership on our website, which provides them access to collaboration opportunities across the plant protein sector. Project Pitch Day is dedicated to providing a foundation for potential organizations to start the clustering process. Protein Industries Canada has up to $40 million to invest in the first round of projects. The deadline to submit a potential project in our first round is June 28, 2019. A second round will occur this Fall – stay tuned for more information!

The deadline to register to pitch is June 10, 2019. There are only 25 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pitch Day occurs following PIC’s AGM. Register for the AGM here.
