Board of Directors & Governance
Protein Industries Canada’s Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction, fiduciary oversight and risk management of the organization. Protein Industries Canada is committed to diversity and gender parity within its Board of Directors.
In 2023-24, four new members were elected to the board of directors at the AGM in September 2023. The new board members, who represent one independent director and three industry directors, bring a mix of skills and expertise to further support the long-term success of the organization. The new board members elected for a three-year term, starting in 2023-24 were:
- Dr. Anja Geitmann (independent);
- Dori Gingera-Beauchemin (industry);
- Jacqueline Khayat (industry); and
- Jennifer Marchand (industry)
Protein Industries Canada continues to meet the requirements of gender parity on the board of directors.
During the fiscal year 2023-24, board meetings were held both virtually and in person. Over the course of the year, the board met eight times. In addition, a one-day virtual board orientation for the new board member was held, along with an in-person strategic planning session.
There are two committees of the board: Governance and Nominating and Audit and Finance.
Committees meet in advance of regular board meetings.
