Protein Industries Canada (PIC) is seeking a Financial Analyst to contribute to the project reporting function of the organization. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will have a keen and detailed eye to review monthly cost submissions, analyze data for eligibility and calculate reimbursements due to project members. The Financial Analyst may also periodically be required to assist with other corporate and project reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review project claim submissions to ensure completeness and proper formatting.
  • Perform analysis over cost eligibility according to program requirements.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly financial reports and progress summaries.
  • Provide training and guidance to project members on PIC’s reporting requirements.
  • Assist in annual forecasting process and monthly accounting entries.
  • Assist in developing and refining processes and procedures for project-specific reporting.
  • Assist in the development and execution of program audits.
  • Assist in semi-annual reporting prepared by the organization for funding bodies.

As the Financial Analyst, you must be detail-oriented and have exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.

Education and Experience

  • University degree in Business/Accounting/Agriculture or related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience in an analyst or accounting role
  • Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
