Graham Markham
Graham is a seasoned professional with significant experience in developing and executing the strategies to grow a business. He has spent his career working in corporate development, strategy, and finance, across companies ranging in size from TSX 100-listed, to start-up. He has lived and worked in both Toronto and London (UK), and across the developed and developing world during that time. Graham’s background is diverse: in the world of strategy, he has been involved in projects worth billions of dollars to build up and scale companies. And in the world of finance, his well-rounded background has spanned capital markets, investments, and M&A.
Since 2021 Graham has served as Chief Development Officer of New Protein International, which will soon be building Canada’s first soy protein manufacturing facility. In his role he leads: a) customer relationships with large CPG firms, b) strategic partnerships, c) government relations, and d) a very large fundraise of debt and equity to fund the construction cost. In parallel, he has led the strategy and financing of a demonstration facility, which was commissioned in 2024 and showcases the company’s exclusive hexane-free technology.
Through his current role Graham has developed deep expertise in the ingredient manufacturing industry, government relations (at the local, provincial and federal levels), and developing innovative financing solutions needed to build up the plant protein industry in Canada.
Graham is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an MBA from London Business School (in the UK), where he specialized in Strategy & Entrepreneurship and graduated in the top 10% of his class.
