2026 CAPI Exchange Conference: Canadian Agri-Food in a Value-Added World

Event Date:
Event Location:
Ottawa, ON

Join the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute (CAPI) in partnership with the Centre for Agri-Food Benchmarking for the fourth annual CAPI Exchange Conference, Canadian Agri-Food in a Value-Added World, on October 6 & 7 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

In today’s rapidly changing global environment, Canada can no longer rely on rules-based trade or commodity volume to drive agri-food growth.

In its 2025 Risk Report, CAPI calls for a focus on adding value through investment and innovation, smarter trade diversification, stronger infrastructure, and increased production and domestic demand for renewable fuels as drivers for a more focused, ambitious and actionable agriculture and food policy agenda.

The benefits of adding more value are substantial. It delivers economic growth, reduces risk, expands the economic and social impact of the sector and repositions agriculture and food as more than just a resource sector. But this cannot be done haphazardly. A policy reset, laser focused on how to add value to the sector, is needed.
